Yeva Lapsker (D)
Yeva Lapsker was born in Leningrad and emigrated to Germany at a young age together with her parents. As a graduate of Heidelberg University she became a traveler of worlds and words, a translator and dancer. Whilst teaching and performing, Yeva worked at different theatres and festivals, including the international theatre festival "Theater der Welt".
Diving into the world of Yiddishkayt, such festivals as KlezKanada, Yiddish Summer Weimar, Yiddish New York, Jewish Culture Festival Kraków as well as studying at the renown YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in New York became important cornerstones for her. She is a co-founder of the Yiddish culture Verein Shtetl Berlin and has led dancing for Tantshoyzer and various workshops. For the acclaimed Netflix series "Unorthodox" Yeva Lapsker was engaged as a choreographer and dancer. Currently she is living together with her family on a ship in Hamburg, working on various dance-, theater-, multimedia- as well as translation projects.
