YSW Wandering Stars Traditional Klezmer & New Yiddish Music Projects

The “Wandering Stars” of Yiddish Summer Weimar 2021 are the artists of today who come to Weimar from near and far, drawn together by the promise of creating new music from rare Yiddish melodies that lay dormant in archives in the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. For the first time in more than a century, these melodies can be heard again, brought to life by some of the leading lights of Klezmer and New Jewish Music in Europe and North America today. Sometimes traditional, sometimes adventurous, the diverse settings of these musical gems show the lasting creative power of Yiddish melody.
